“Ramon touched the hearts of thousands of our community members with his performances and teaching of Mexican folklorico dance and culture,” said Susan Cashion, a lecturer emerita on Mexican and Latin American dance at Stanford University and Morones’ partner. Morones and Cashion formed el Grupo Folklorico Los Lupenos de San Jose in 1969. At its peak, the group was widely regarded as the best Mexican dance company in the United States and rival to Mexico’s top companies. Through its school and workshops, Los Lupenos inspired folklorico groups throughout west and southwest.

“Master of None” (Netflix): Those who know Aziz Ansari only for the broad supporting character he played on “Parks and Recreation” will be surprised by his range and perspective in this gem of an indie-style comedy. With a sweet spirit and a casual pace, “Master of None” focuses on Dev, a 30-year-old actor adrift in New York with no real life plan. Along the way, he brings some sharp humor and keen insights to subjects as diverse as the plight of the elderly, the immigrant experience, gender equality and modern relationships. The rumor mills have been working overtime, talking about how some switched up couples, like Danica and Maks, didn’t get along, but it seemed the twist brought out some of the best in several celebs. And there was a rumor that Erin was so disliked by producers that she was being replaced. Erin is a bit caustic and asks probing questions, but she brings a breath of fresh air that the show really needed. “Macy’s Stars of Dance” made its first appearance of the season and Derek choreographed a powerful, sexy, tremendous routine that featured Kathryn McCormick of “So You Think You Can Dance.” Week 5 will be “Disney Night” with all Disney movie music and as Tom explained, it would include “dancing with animated characters.” Huh?.
